What is your rugby background?
Came back to it in my mid 20’s following a few years of not very enjoyable compulsory rugby at school PE lessons trying to run around in a huge heavy-duty rugby shirt deliberately bought several sizes too big so it would fit by 5th year!
Spent my resumed rugby career with Witney and played until my mid 40s.
How did you get involved in the county?
One glass of wine too many while sat next to Dave Larham at a club dinner.
What are your rugby highlights?
Managing to play at least one senior match in every position on the pitch (apart from tight head prop).
Having a front row seat at Twickenham for the famous Sant-Andre try in 1991
A very enjoyable rugby tour to Heidelberg back in the day.
What do you want to achieve in your time on the board?
The County had been without a treasurer for well over a year when I joined the board and 6 months later lockdown hit us. I see my role now as being focused on maintaining the financial stability of the CB and ensuring there is a solid financial platform to continue supporting both representative rugby in the County and the continued development of the county’s clubs.
