As part of the RFU’s campaign to provide practical advice to players and coaches, a new nutrition advice site has been launched to give aspiring players the foundations of good nutrition.
Foodforrugby.org includes information ranging from pre-match and recovery to getting the right levels of hydration as well as recipe ideas and advice.
The ’10 nutrition commandments’ outline the basics of a good diet, with the science behind also highlighted. There is also a quiz to test your knowledge.
The content backs up the Rugby Football Union’s ‘food first approach’ for all its players, especially those of school age.
The content has been developed by Liverpool John Moores University in conjunction with the RFU. The University also provide practical advice and develops the nutritional content for the England age grade and senior teams.
