U13 Boys

We are delighted to announce that there will be an U13 Boys competition for the first time during the 2024-25 season.

Oxfordshire RFU runs the cup competition for the Under 13s age group. The format is determined by the number of entries and the age grade continuum regulations. In 2024-25 we will be running a waterfall tournament consisting of a group stage followed by a knock-out phase to determine the winners of the U13s Oxfordshire County Cup along with the supplementary Plate and Shield competitions.

Finals Day will be held on Sunday 23rd March 2025 at Didcot Rugby Club.

U13s Final Day:

Our first ever U13s County Cup competition comes to an exciting climax on Sunday 23rd March as Didcot Rugby Club host Finals Day! The Plate and Shield Finals kick off at 1pm and the Cup Final will be at 3pm. Gates open at 11.30am and Entry is £5 per family. It is set to be a great day of rugby with more than 100 boys showcasing their skill in front of their friends and family.

Important note:

RFU regulation 15.11.3 requires U13 matches to be brought to a halt once the difference is 30 points – “The Mercy Rule”. We have included within our regulations non mandatory adjustments that coaches can make to balance a one sided game. We would encourage these to be used to maximise enjoyment for both sets of players. If both teams are happy then the game can continue after the mercy rule in invoked but the score line is fixed.

For any further information on the competitions, please contact the ORFU Competitions Chair  or the age grade specific email for U13s.
