Job Title: Head Coach – Abingdon Rugby Club (Men’s Senior Teams)
Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK
About Abingdon Rugby Club:
Abingdon Rugby Club is a community-focused club in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, dedicated to player development and teamwork. We have two Senior Men’s Teams. The 1st team play at Level 8 in the Counties 2 Berks, Bucks & Oxon North, the 2nd team play at Level 9 in the Counties 3 Berks, Bucks & Oxon North.
Develop and lead a structured training programme for the men’s senior team, focusing on skill enhancement, tactical understanding, and fitness.
Plan match strategies and formations for competitive fixtures, working closely with team captains and assistant coaches.
Conduct player assessments and provide feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
Foster a positive team culture based on sportsmanship, respect, and commitment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Extensive coaching experience at a competitive level, ideally with men’s senior teams.
Recognised coaching certifications (e.g., RFU Level 2 or equivalent).
There is scope for a suitable candidate to receive support in the pursuit of a Level 2 or England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award (ERACA Level 3).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Sound knowledge of rugby tactics and player development.

Additional Information:
This is a part-time rol

during the rugby season (July to May) the ideal candidate will be able to fully commit to all training and match days during the season.
Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays – 6.45pm – 8.30pm
Match days are on Saturday between September and May
Availability during the week to liaise with assistant coaches and managers is flexible
